How do I get in touch?
There is a contact form on the home page of www.kevhardy.com. There are also buttons on the Contact, Commissions, and Portfolio pages of the website which will open your email app automatically.
The email address is kevhardyart@gmail.com.
The WhatsApp username is @kevhardyart.
Do you use AI?
I do not use AI for any of my illustrations. That is just me and a pen.
I use a digital drawing screen rather than paper these days, which provides many advantages over the traditional method.
I do use some AI on the website. For creating the room mock-ups for example that show a framed print in a home environment as this helps customers visualise what my work might look like in their own home.
What can I have illustrated?
I specialise in black and white architectural illustrations of buildings. I have undertaken other subjects over the years but this is at my discretion.
How long does it take?
Usually, 2 to 3 weeks but can be quicker in an emergency.
How much does it cost?
Around £300, sometimes less, sometimes more. You will receive a complete quotation once we have jointly decided on the project details.
Can I make changes to the illustration once it’s started?
Yes. Right up until the final draft has been approved. Please bear in mind that radical changes beyond what had previously been discussed may alter the quoted price.
Do you post outside the UK?
Yes. The cost of postage and an estimate of how long delivery will take is included in the quotation.
Do you do an express service?
Yes. I can help in an emergency and will always do my very best to meet your deadlines if I can.
Who owns the finished illustration?
You do. The image is yours to do with as you wish (within legal and social boundaries). If you are purchasing just the digital image you can have it printed or framed as you wish. If I am providing a professional quality print you are free to have this copied or framed as you choose.
You are free to use the image in any way you like. I would only ask, if the image is used in a professional way such as for business, marketing, or advertising that Kev Hardy is given an artist’s credit.
Do you do portraits?
No. I specialise in architectural illustrations of buildings because that is what interests me the most. If you want a portrait done I can suggest some very good artists who would be able to help.
Refunds
If you decide not to go ahead after seeing the sketch no payments are due.
The deposit is none refundable once the sketch has been agreed.
If you decide not to go ahead after seeing the final draft, then I would not ask you to make the final payment, but the deposit would not be refunded.
What if I don’t like the finished illustration?
Hopefully this would never happen. But, if after approving the sketch and final draft, you are unhappy with the finished work then I would refund the final payment. The deposit is non-refundable, however.
Returns
If you are unhappy with the finished product once it has been delivered to you I will issue a full refund (including the deposit) once you have returned the items to me at your own cost. The copyright for the illustration would then revert to me.
What happens to my data?
I am very careful with the information you provide me and will never, ever, share it or sell it on to anyone else. I have a database of customers which is password protected and behind a firewall. The companies I use to host my website (Shopify) and produce the prints and framing service (Prodigi) have even stronger safeguards against their data being stolen.
If I use the illustration in any future promotional work it will only ever be listed as a 'Private Home' and a general location, unless you have agreed otherwise. If you provide any quotes only your first name and general area will be used alongside it.
