Standing on the edge of Southampton Common, The Cowherds takes its name from the historic grazing land that once covered much of the area, where local cowherds tended livestock on the open heath. For generations, the pub has served as a welcoming gathering place for residents, walkers and visitors enjoying one of Southampton’s most treasured green spaces.
